Membranes : CopiOs® Pericardium

Zimmer Dental is pleased to announce the launch of the CopiOsŪ Pericardium Membrane in the United States, Europe, and Asia

Strong meets supple.

CopiOs PericardiumCopiOs Pericardium Membrane provides a long-lasting1, conformable barrier that is strong2 enough to meet the rigors of your clinical practice, yet also supple to adapt to challenging graft contours. Due to the ability of the Tutoplast® Process to preserve the properties of the native pericardium membrane, CopiOs Pericardium Membrane has the feel and characteristics of natural tissue – easy to manipulate and implant, drapeable and durable -- to meet your high clinical expectations.

• Clinically-demonstrated performance in guided bone regeneration procedures3-4, where ease of manipulation and adaptability to surface contours is essential
• Shown to provide a stable, long-lasting barrier during healing and integration of Puros® Allografts and staged or immediately-placed implants3-4
• Supports an aesthetic soft tissue response 3-5 through facilitation of cell attachment and proliferation and remodeling into vascularized, connective tissue6
• Retains the structure and composition of natural tissue due to the proprietary Tutoplast® Process7, leading to optimal performance and handling3-4

CopiOs Pericardium Membrane – Designed to work with our Puros Allograft Family of Products.
Puros Family of ProductsA complete line of regenerative products for every bone and soft tissue augmentation need.

The Tutoplast Process
CopiOs Pericardium Membrane is refined using the proprietary, multi-stage Tutoplast Sterilization Process. While preserving the valuable collagen matrix and tissue integrity, this process gently removes unwanted materials such as cells, antigens and viruses, as well as inactivating pathogens. Tutoplast-Processed tissues have been used for more than 35 years.

  1. Osmotic treatment
  2. Oxidative treatment
  3. Alkaline treatment
  4. Solvent dehydration
  5. Limited-dose gamma irradiation

A variety of advantages

  • Drapeability: supple and strong, with exceptional adaptability to surface contours
  • Ease of manipulation: ease of placement and conformity to graft site
  • Long-lasting barrier function: in vivo animal studies show that resorption outlasts competitive membranes1
  • Stability: multidirectional strength and tear resistance, accepts a wide range of sutures and fixation devices3
  • Biocompatible: remodeled into connective tissue through normal tissue healing processes3,6
  • Tissue-friendly: seen to promote osteoblast and periodontal ligament cell proliferation in in vitro studies6
  • History of successful clinical results across dental surgical applications3-5
  • Convenient: five-year shelf life, room temperature storage, space-saving, stackable packaging
